The Backyard photos and Blender photogrammetry

I’m sure Jack White is smiling from Above about this one. Two previous posts addressed the infamous “Backyard Photos”. If unfamiliar, you can get up to speed here.

Here’s what’s going on:

Blender does not lie. After applying the scale to BYM (backyardman), here is CE133A, which shows The Militant in the individual’s right hand being held vertically over his chest. The dimensions of The Militant were 17×22″. That is the baseline for setting our scale in the first example. It will vary based on other parameters, as will be seen.

It appears those who framed Lee used an older copy of the socialist publication The Militant. The 1963 versions printed the logo to the left of the headline masthead of the layout. The one seen in CE133A is obviously to the right. This exemplar from 22 January 1962 shows the three-column masthead format that matches what is seen in The Militant archives. The paper was folded in the vertical plane under the masthead to ensure the logo was visible. Click below to access:

Scale – The Militant at 17″ wide in image:

1. Rifle is 58″ long, should be 40.2″
2. Height of individual is 8′ 510.7″
3. Ear to ear 10.448″
4. Crown to chin 1′ 1.43″

A query to ChatGPT has reported the following about The Militant: “…the format changed with the January 30, 1963 issue to tabloid “roughly 11 × 17 inch,” and The Militant remained in that tabloid size thereafter—through the fall of 1963 and up to the present in its archive listings.” Here is the scaling based on 11 inches wide:

The following is part of Jack’s work where by using a couple of simple rulers, he scaled Lee’s known height and the known length of the rifle and compared each other. This rudimentary technique was sound and effective.

He found that when he scaled the individual to Lee’s known height, the rifle was too long. Conversely, when he scaled the rifle to its known length, “backyardman” was too short. (Note he scaled from the right foot to the top of the head. Here we have averaged it out to measure from the middle of both feet upward):

And this next one is according to the scale of the rifle at 40.2 inches, 3’3.3 inches. As noted by Jack, it reduces the height of the individual to 5’6″:

The more we advance in technology and Artificial Intelligence, the closer we get to producing evidence that even the mainstream media and so-called historians will have to surrender to.
